Hello!  Welcome to my blog, I’m Rachel and here you’ll find me talking about all things music.  Please, come in and take a seat, make yourself comfortable and I’ll give you an insight in to how it all started.

Looking through the back pages of the local newspaper in 2004, I was hoping to find an up-and-coming band who were willing to be interviewed for a community radio station that I was involved with.  I came accross a band from New York who had just released their first album, and their debut single was a Pink Floyd cover, but my initial reaction was that just like me, we’ve all got to start somewhere, right?  So I contacted the band and we arranged to meet at a hotel, but when I arrived there was the most glamourous tour bus sat in the carpark and the band decided that’s where they wanted to conduct the interview.  It was a very exciting experience, we chatted for quite a while, took photos and I even plucked up the courage to ask for my CD to be signed.  I was also added to the guestlist for the show that evening, and I couldn’t quite believe how well it had turned out for me.  That moment was when my interest in music journalism first started, and that band were the Scissor Sisters.

This blog is a labour of love and contains all of my content from over the years.  I’ve been fortunate enough to be involved in many great projects and She Talks Music is a platform for me to showcase that, and an outlet for me to continue publishing my writing.  Being introduced to new music is something that I thoroughly enjoy and having the opportunity to write about it.  You’ll always find me plugged in to something no matter where I am, so if you have something you would like to send to me please get in touch via the contact form, I’d love to hear from you.
